About the Kenai Peninsula

The best of Alaska is only two scenic hours from Anchorage. Pristine rivers filled with world class fish, snowcapped mountains, calving glaciers and enough wildlife to fill a dozen rolls of film. Whatever your fancy-wildlife, history, culture or adventure-the Kenai Peninsula is the place for you!

There are countless options on the peninsula; the tough part is deciding where to wet your line first. The Kenai Peninsula’s rivers are among the most famous, most intensely managed, fresh water salmon fisheries in Alaska. While the mammoth King Salmon are the most eagerly sought after fish, there are also bountiful runs of other salmon such as the silvers.

Whether an angler is fly fishing all alone, drifting for King Salmon or commissioning a deep-sea halibut charter, the Kenai Peninsula is unquestionably the best catch. Fishing isn't limited to the summer season - anglers have a chance to test their skill year-round. Spring and fall are also excellent times of the year to wet a line. And there is ample occasion to ice fish for salmon or trout on a crisp winter day on many peninsula lakes.
